Red, White & Blue Birthday

Sweet 'n Sassy has a color challenge to use Red, White and Blue, and The Sweet Stop has a great sketch!

I chose this wonderful Cocoa Mouse image from Sweet 'n Sassy digis for two reasons -- it wasn't the typical "patriotic" image we tend to put with a red, white, and blue color scheme, and I need to do more birthday cards for Operation Write Home.  If you click on the OWH badge on the right side of my blog, you can read about them and what they do to support our troops and encourage/help them to stay in touch with loved ones.

The sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy also.  The image is colored with Copic markers, then matted on dark blue CS.  The final touch is applying the four, shiny brads in the corners.  Both gingham check design papers are from the "Nana's Kitchen" pad by DCWV.  Those are adhered to the base card of light blue and laid out according to the sketch, then the image panel is attached.

Since this card will go to OWH, I kept it very simple and lightweight.  I have two or three more CAS cards in mind and I'll share them with you later this week if I get them done.

We're at the halfway point to the weekend!  Funny how quickly it goes when there's a Monday holiday, isn't it?  Hope you've had time for some creativity and joy.  Thanks for stopping by and Happy Creating.  NanaConnie
