Life's a Beach !

     OK, summer is definitely here in sunny California and, since the state is known for its great beaches, I jumped right in on the Sassy Design Studio's "Life's a Beach" challenge on their Paper Craft Planet forum.  In addition, they have a color challenge to use light pink, hot pink, and black at their Dare to Be Sassy Thursday challenge.

     I'm using the new sketch from Midnight Madness.



     The image is the Fabulous Friday Freebie from Sassy Design Studio and there's an extra entry if you use either this image or the freebie from this coming Friday.  It's a perfect image for their Beach theme.

     The image is colored with a combination of Copics, gel pens, and sparkle inks (water bottle, glasses, and flip-flops).  The image is matted with black CS and light pink CS.  The card base is two sided CS -- black and white, cut and folded so that it's black outside and white inside for writing the personal message.  From my stash, I chose dp with light pink dots (which really are teeny-tiny stars) and layered it onto the right side of the card front, then added the matted image on top.

     I cut narrow strips of hot pink and light pink paper and added those at top and bottom of the image, and put a tiny star rhinestone at each end of the strips.  I added three more of those stars to the left side of the image.  Finally, I added a satin bow to the top strip and three, dimensional, paper roses to the bottom strip. 

     I think she's the perfect bathing beauty, and I hope she remembered her sun screen!  :-)
