This week, Inspirational Card Sketches has a sketch that I just love. Their challenge is being sponsored by Sweet 'n Sassy digital stamps and, since I dearly love their images, I used another Cocoa Mouse image for this card.

I've been doing loads of cards for Operation Write Home these last couple of weeks, especially those that fit with Missing You, Love You, Thinking of You themes. OWH has a June challenge to get as many of those kinds of cards into the hands of the shippers by June 30 as possible. I regularly do cards for OWH because I have a personal commitment to do 365 cards for OWH in 2011, but in the last 14 days, I've done more than 20 cards with those themes. OK, here's my latest card using the IC sketch.
I chose my colors from the color challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon, pink and brown (plus use ribbon). I started with a card base of dark brown, then chose pink and kraft CS cut into 2" squares. I printed the image of Cocoa Mouse with a letter, colored him with markers and cut the image into a 2" square. The sentiment went onto each pink square, and then I adhered the 4 squares onto the card base.
I picked a light pink, diamond-pattern ribbon and a sheer brown ribbon (both from Really Reasonable Ribbon.) I cut the pink ribbon to a 3" piece and did a dove-tail cut on each end, then cut a piece of brown ribbon about 8 inches long and tied a bow with it, trimming off the long tails. I adhered them to the card with super sticky, double sided tape.
I know this is another card which will be put to good use by one of our deployed troops writing to loved ones at home. Want to be part of the 'Second Million' cards sent by Operation Write Home to troops overseas? Click on the badge on the right side of my blog and read all about how you can participate with this terrific organization in lending a little support to troops and their families.
Hope you have had a great weekend. We've had a bit of rain for the garden and only occasional bouts of sunshine, but I may yet get to throw something on the grill for dinner. Thanks for coming by. Happy Crafting. NanaConnie
