Here's one of the three partially finished cards I've worked on today. With this one, I'm hoping to kill two birds with one stone (no pun intended.) Operation Write Home has a challenge for us to do Thanksgiving cards this week. Early, I know, but it's never too soon to start holiday cards! Then, Sparkle 'N' Sprinkle has the theme of Rebuilding for their June card challenge, since June is "Rebuild Your Life Month". It's a time of remembering that today is a new day, and we can make changes in our lives, regardless of circumstances or age. Their card challenge ends on June 19.
I used a sketch from Midnight Madness and kept it very plain and simple this time since the card will be going to OWH sometime this fall.

Here's my effort.
I used a sketch from Midnight Madness and kept it very plain and simple this time since the card will be going to OWH sometime this fall.

Here's my effort.
The turkey stamp is from Sparkle 'N' Sprinkle, their Thanksgiving Set. I stamped it on an olive, Swiss dot dp from DCWV (hard to see but there are tiny white dots on the paper), then heat embossed it with Teddy Brown EP (Sparkle 'N' Sprinkle) and left it without coloring it. I cut it with a Spellbinders Lacy Circles die and then layered that onto another Sizzix die cut of textured brown CS from my stash.
I chose background dp with a very light print which would set off the image, not overwhelm it (DCWV again, I think.) I wrapped the dp with fabric lace of beige and woodland brown, then adhered it to the card base of avocado green. The sentiment is printed and matted with that same avocado green CS.
I chose that wording because it fits with the general theme of Thanksgiving but it also fits with the rebuilding theme. Sometimes, the first thing you have to do, before you undertake change or rebuilding, is to take a moment to say thanks for where you are and what you have right now. I added three flat rhinestones to two corners, making sure they are securely adhered with craft glue.
I think that's it for today. The rest will have to wait until tomorrow or later in the week. I have to make tracks to the kitchen and start dinner for company. They arrived in town unexpectedly today -- friends I haven't seen in nearly 20 years and they are coming for dinner. We have a whole bunch of catching up to do, as you can imagine!
Happy Crafting. NanaConnie
