When I first saw this Dude Time Doodles digi image, I giggled out loud and thought about my dad. Mornings required coffee first, above all else! If he was still with us, I'd be giving him this card on Sunday. Dude Time Doodles has an inspirational challenge this week and this is the inspiration photo.
As you can see, we have to do a monochromatic, masculine (always) card. Whatever colors are allowed, they are very subdued and pastel. I stayed with the black/white/gray except for the tiniest touch of Frost Blue on the mug and in the buttons. Here's my card.
I combined the monochromatic challenge with a few other challenges, but I'll tell you about those as I give you the card details. The sketch came from Cardabilities.

What little coloring I did was done with Copic markers. The image was printed on winter white paper, and I matted it with black CS. I used a winter gray CS to make the wide, vertical strip and I layered the matted image onto that, then mounted it onto the card base. I hand printed the sentiment because Really Reasonable Ribbon's challenge is for handwritten sentiments or journaling. I matted it with the same black CS and attached it to the card base.
The large bow is tied from wide, black and silver ribbon that came from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I added the two small buttons as embellishment which completed the recipe challenge at Cooking It Up with Katie; "Make it for Dad, Make it Funny & Add a Button." I think there's humor to be found in the image, for sure, and even in the sentiment. :-)
Finally, I'm submitting this over at Dutch Dare, Catch the Bug, and Incy Wincy, where the challenges are to do masculine or 'for the boys' projects. I'm also going to post it for the challenge at Delightful Challenges where 'Anything Goes.' I think that's the most challenges I've ever combined! Of course, when there are four that have masculine/Dad themes and a fifth that's anything goes, that makes it pretty simple. :-)
Enjoy your weekend and Happy Stamping.
