Whoopsie Daisy Challenge wants us to do Christmas cards this week! Given all the hot, HOT, weather we've been having, maybe doing Christmas cards will make us feel cooler. :-) Actually, I started doing this card yesterday and the rain clouds rolled in! Can you believe that? The day was 25 degrees cooler than the day before.
I used a sketch from CPS-Card Sketches, and had additional inspiration from Stamps R Us for their challenge theme "There was a little girl...".

Here's my card.
Isn't that Whoopsie Daisy image just the sweetest little girl? Doesn't she make a perfect Christmas card? I can guarantee you that this card is going into my personal stash of family Christmas cards. No doubt, one of my granddaughters will get it this year. She's almost too precious to give away! I might have to use this image to make a set of tree ornaments. Hmmmm -- ok, that's another project. How about the card deets?
The design is very Clean And Simple, to show off the image. She's colored with watercolors except for her face, which is done with Copic marker. I die cut the image and matted her with a Spellbinders scalloped rectangle die cut. I liked that red/white combo so much that I decided to use a white card base and add no other color. The red CS strip below the image is shaped with a corner punch.
I added the K & Co. rosette as the only embellishment. I LOVE THIS CARD! Can you hear my enthusiasm? lol Whoopsie Daisy has several little girls and Victorian ladies that could be used for Christmas cards so I'm going shopping again and get some more of them. I have a feeling that my Christmas cards will all have a somewhat vintage feel this year just because I like this card so much!
Thanks for stopping by. I hope your HOT day can be cooled off by Christmas in June. Happy Stamping. NanaConnie
