Birthday Wish

One more birthday card today, also going in the box for Operation Write Home.  For this one, I used a sketch from Just Us GirlS (JUGS) and a theme from ABC Challenge, "W is for Wish."  That means any kind of wish, fairytale wish, health, luck, --including birthday wishes.

I hate to say that I used to do the JUGS challenges faithfully but lately I've not been getting projects completed in time to post to their challenges.  Still, most of the cards I made went in the box for OWH so it's not a great loss.  I'll try to do better.  I used a Whoopsie Daisy image and their challenge is "Lace and Ribbon."  This is the first time I've participated in a Whoopsie Daisy challenge but when I found their digis, I went a little crazy buying their images!  They have such sweet little girls, among many other things.

   Here's my card.

I printed her twice, on white and then on lavender paper, and colored her with Copics.  I highlighted the dress on the lavender printed image, fussy cut it and paper pieced it on mini pop dots to give it a little dimension.  IRL, it makes the dress look like it really is poofed out by the crinoline slip and bloomers she's wearing.

I used a lace doily as the corner circle and attached the fussy cut image right to it.  For the other two circles, I added Lacy Circles cut with a Spellbinders die.  The black and white, polka dot dp is from Recollections.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The sentiment was printed from my computer and matted with that same lavender paper.

I stayed with all black and white except for the image and the sentiment because I wanted those two things to really pop.  I love the lace and the polka dots together.

OK, that's it for today.  Hope everything is back to a regular pace tomorrow and that I can really spend some time crafting over the weekend.  I know I'm going to catch up on sleep tonight and tomorrow night!  Thanks for visiting.  I appreciate your comments so much.  :-)  Happy Creating.  NanaConnie
